Sturt U20. Played U/18 State last year as well as some ABA, but not good enough to make the academy though.

I don't know but Jan might be able to contribute to a Junior Australian squad at traininngs and games. He may even push for selection. He might, if he wishes, get off to college and come back as a very, very solid ABL player. However, that doesnt neccessarily equate to success at the NBL level.

Chief, Dodman and others coming through the system now are similar to Jan. Bodytype and poor coaching from junior coaches mean these athletes dont develop the skillsets to play at a higher level. Hell, these guys should have almost being developed into small forwards at the junior level!!!!

Couldn't agree less. What guy in the current squad has more chance than a 17 year old, 6'8" 4 man who can shoot the 3 and has a legit post game?

Especially, considering last years MVP was a 5'10" point guard who can't make a 3 to save his life. And we all know that the shelf life of small, poor shooting point guards in the NBL is not great.

I dunno how you could say Jan doesn't have a good skillset. One of the more skillful big men going around :)

ps: Daly should be in the AIS, backing up dellavedova at the point. He's better than cadee and the likes, in my opinion.

Perhaps the selectors needed Jan's hieght and skill whereas the other lads height may have impacted on his selection
