How can you sign someone that is still playing for another team?
I thought there are NBL rules against this, it is called poaching.
How have Melbourne even been able to talk to him, that is definetly against league rules.
If true Kendall will be the most hated man in Perth.

Kendall's contract is up when Rogers is back. So he should be free to talk to other clubs in lieu of when he is expecting to be released (ie he must have already been told he has been cut or when he is being cut?). Players under contract for a full season however cannot talk to other clubs until the season has ended and the pre-determined date for talks is passed.

However he is still a contracted player and may well have been offered an extension by Perth who could have had some other injuries which he would cover.

Kendall isn't contracted by Perth. He was signed by Perth on a short term contract so I can't see what the problem is.

He wasn't going to be, barring a specific injury in the final game to a guard.
He watched last game because I think they're trying to acclimatise to plaing without him, I don't think Perth was a real good fit for him anyway, he needed more time than their depth could allow to let him get into the flow.
I think he'd do better at Melbourne... honestly, this was a move the Tigers should have made at the start of the season...

the only problem i can see is the salary cap again, again, again!!
i wonder if the winner of the nbl will go bust this year ??
once again the cost of bragging rights may rob another community of its passion.

What's the situation with the salary cap i.e is Mackinnon still included? If he's not, I expect that Mackinnon would be on more than Kendall so I'm not sure about your argument skull.
Anyway, in light of the fact that there seems to be agreement that many teams are over (including the sixers) the salary cap, it would be good if it wasn't just the tigers accused of it.

Is there a time when teams bringing in new players stops? like in the NBA it is mid season. I'm pretty sure there is something similar here. So if Rogers is not back by then, then does Kendall still get to go to the Tigers?

Suga, can you please inform us when you put up highlights from the Tigers-36ers game on Gaze TV, but please make sure you include some 6ers highlights, cheers.

Once again you demonstrate a fractured knowledge of all things basketball. The trade deadline in February doesn't kill all player movement, and is especially not applicable in this case becuse:
1. This is the NBL, trades don't... nay CAN'T happen.
2. If this were the NBA there'd be NO issue with Kendall signing on with another team (yet as with both league's he shouldn't be talking with other teams whilst under contract - although I doubt the Wildcats are too pissed off with it, because I think they were preparing for the eventuality when Rogers would be back) because he's doing t under free agency. If you had half a brain you'd know that there's even less restrictions on free agency and waiver wire than here, in the NBA you can sign free agents and work the waiver wire pretty much up to the end of the regular season. In the NBL I'm pretty sure there's a minimum games limit to beeligible for the playoffs (pretty sure, not positive, had an idea its roughly 8).

As far as I remember it used to be 8 games also hound, not aware if that has been changed at all. So yes you could sign someone with less games to go but kind of pointless.
How do we know Perth havn't released him already? After all he didnt play in their game vs Crocs last night.

Exactly, I think his release is merely a formality.
If he's still contracted there they aren't playing him because they know he won't be around long.
I'd be interested to see how Schensch goes against Paul Rogers, who was the guy who most noteably stymied Jawai last year...
Kendall makes their paper squad more rounded but I don't think he's going to play his best there, because he needs more freedom than their depth will afford him with Hinson there.

Perth also released Aaron Trahair to the Hawks so that he could log some minutes instead of sitting on the bench.
Maybe the Perth way to not stop a player from playing if there are bettter opportunities for them elsewhere

Sammy Mack's salary wouldnt count towards the cap now that he is injured so the money side of things isnt a problem.

In what i saw of Kendall at Perth i couldnt believe that he has once represented Australia. Whether he couldnt get a grip of the team plays, but he was always turning the ball over (He only played well once and that was in the double overtime). I think Perth fans didnt see the best of luke but also think Luke didnt really what to be here !

Kendalls short term contract expired a few days ago and he elected not to sign an extension even though it was offered by the Wildcats as they still see Caporn and Robbins not being fully fit come finals time if the Wildcats qualify.
Perth never did see the best of Kendall, although in saying that it was hard for the fans to see the best of him when he was playing so bad. He couldnt protect the ball and his grasp of the Wildcats plays was shaky. You'd expect that from someone who came into the setup mid season, but this guy is ex Boomers PG and should have done better.
So in short, not much of a loss to the Wildcats as he didnt give them much when he was he. The Tigers more structured offered will suit him better and remind him of the Goorj days.

Will be interesting to see how Melbourne go with Kendall. Gives them another turnover prone guard who is really better suited to the 2 than as a PG, IMO. But still, has to be an improvement over the David Barlow-as-PG experiment.
