2016 Olympic Games city set to be announced

The International Olympic Committee are set to announce the successful city that will host the 2016 Olympic Games.

The 4 short listed cities remaining in contention are:

Chicago, United State of America
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Tokyo, Japan
Madrid, Spain

The favourite is now Chicago which has recently nudged ahead of Rio thanks in large part to President Obama's direct involvement and lobbying of the IOC. Interesting to note that the Olympics have never before been held in South America.

However public support for the Chicago bid is weak, with a recent poll by the Chicago Tribune found that 47 percent of respondents supported the bid and 45 percent opposed it.

The voting and winner is announced early Saturday morning Australian time.

Favourites Chicago were overlooked in favour of the first ever Olympic Games in South Amercia...

So Brazil host th FIFA World Cup in 2014 and then the Olympics in 2016.

Should be a real fun Olymics too!
