NH: Eddy Groves gets lucky break

Eddy Groves seems to pop up on occasion in this forum and noticed this on adelaide now.

"Former ABC Learning boss Eddy Groves has had his unlicensed driving case thrown out of court because of a paperwork bungle.

EdGroves has appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today to face allegations he drove on the Gold Coast in November last year while his licence had been suspended.

Magistrate Terry Duroux has ruled Queensland Transport issued the incorrect suspension notice to the 44-year-old and has dismissed the charge.

Queensland Police have been ordered to pay costs of more than two-thousand dollars to Mr Groves to cover part of his legal fees"

That's hillarious! I bet that the cop that wrote the ticket is feeling a bit dumb now!

He only got off because his high-priced lawyer made up a convenient bullshit story the magistrate believed. Nothing as extravagant as the news would have you believe.
