Here's the (unusually long) story: http://www.nbl.com.au/news/article/2011/november/cats-turn-to-bartlett/

Does anyone know anything about him is he any good

hasn't he played in the league before? and wasn't he involved in a dunk competition at one of the all star games?

Was a development player with the Breakers a few years ago.
He is a nice lefty, with a smooth jump shot. Can play. Only problem for him will be playing defence, but under Beveridge you know the effort will be there.
Played for the Hawkes Bay Hawks in the NZNBL, and was a solid contributor.

Correction: Was with the Auckland Pirates last season.

Streaky shooter, can throw up brick after brick or drain them all if he finds range, bricks more often than money from what I have seen lately but yes he has mad hops. Won the NBL dunk comp as a Development Player with the Breakers with a between the legs dunk from memory.

Would never have picked this. Didn't think he was even on any team's radar. Is someone like Kendall either otherwise employed or that out of favour? Chris Daniel? One of the Tall Blacks PGs?

He has been training with the Wildcats for 2 years now.

Has really come on the past two NZNBL seasons and was in the Tall Blacks squad this year. Seems like he has been around for ever but is only 25.

Trains with the Wildcats because his mrs and kid lives over here, goes back to NZ for the NZNBL (or whatevs its called) season.
Its odd they even bothered because surely he will be coming in as 11th man, which means he will be first in line to sit out each week. Be interesting to see if he gets a game over Trueman. If he does that would pretty much have to be the nail in the coffin for the big fella?
I would actually like to see Nevil sit out a game or two, unless there is a big 7 footer on the other team, it would be good to give him a kick in the backside.

Was thinking the same thing Isaac re Kendall. Surely considering its Damian Martin out that they would go after someone like Kendall? As seems to be the case with Kendall, maybe his asking price was too high for such a short term contract? Although you'd expect him to take the contracts when he can get them these days..

I have assumed as much but it's just incredible to see someone go from Boomers candidacy to flunking out of trials and trainings.

If you saw the 2 games versus the Blaze and Taipans, Everard has got game and can play defence. Exceeded expectations and more. Would definately be a great pick up if Perth were to sign him for future years.

Correction - his wife and son live in Perth. And he's only been training with the Perth Wildcats for a year, so he was definitely on their radar. He has good game and mad hops and has a lot of potential. Just needs more exposure and training with defence but otherwise he's a great player. So well done Ev!

With hopefully two or three new teams in the next two years youd think he could pick up a full time job somewhere.
