Pioneers Improve to 12-4

In what seemed tougher than perhaps it should have been, the Pioneers got a win over Kilsyth last night at Mt Gambier. Ben Allen & Titus Robinson both recording double doubles, Brad Hill quieter for the home side.

Next 3 at home Brisbane, Hobart and Bendigo.

The game just seemed really flat for some reason. The game was actually a bit boring, the crowd didn't get into it and the pioneers were flat, maybe it was because of the week off. However, always good to still get a win when things aren't as good as they could be. Ben Allen the standout, Burdon a good first half with 17 but only 19 for the game, he should have got more shots and Titus Robinson good defensively and excellent on the boards, doesn't get many opportunities in offensive sets but seems to take them when he does. Brad Hill probably had his worst game for the year, but still got on the boards, only knock would be him not recognising it was not his night and trying to force things a little rather than giving it up to others who were having better shooting nights. But in the end its great to see that the pioneers can not perform at there best but still get wins, a huge change from recent years where at times they had to play at their best to just be competitive. Lets go 'neers.

Big next three home games including Hobart and Bendigo which are the two best teams in the East Conference.

I tend to agree with 'magpies' because it did seem a little flat and the Icehouse still isn't being sold out which is a little disappionting, but people will start to follow the team more with home game wins. Thought Bennny Allen was great last night, Robinson was solid and Hill was poor because he didn't seem overly switched-on. A 10 point win last night wasn't a fair representation of how the teams played.

The Pioneers just keep on doing what they need too do. With the best record they have had in 9 years at this stage it is a good effort from the team.

Hobart is 2nd in the SOUTH conference. Bendigo is 2nd in the EAST conference.
Hoabrt have previosuly beaten the Pioneers on their home court. The Braves at this stage have won 11 straight so some very important games looming for the Pioneers.
