how many athletes are selected?

NPP athletes are any who make an Australian national squad. Would imagine there'd be roughly 16-20 in NSW.

That's HPP, not NPP and their would not be 20 from nsw that would be in an Australian side.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is HPP (or NPP?)

I am only familiar with NITP. If it only applies to national team squads, i assume BA rather than BNSW?

High performance program, BA run with BA selecting athletes , this is for players in national squads, NPP or the old NITP, is for state players, with each state selecting athletes.

Actually NPP stands of National Performance Program. NITP still stands as is, NPP is now a program above it.
