Well the 36ers need to grow their business somehow and this is a good move for all parties.

Look what the AFL are doing with the start up women's league next year. Luckily for the 36ers they have a ready made solution.

This will engage women and young girls more and hence more families flocking to the games.

Hopefully Melbourne United takeover Melbourne Boomers which might get WNBL private ownership. BA are a joke.

Foxtel would probably take the WNBL tv rights as they would already be at the NBL match?

So first Wildcats take over Lynx in Perth now Sixers taking over Lightning in Adelaide. Makes sense to pool your resources together. More to come?

I'm not doubting that adding a WNBL team opens up the scope for some creative accounting, but I'm interested to know how the Cats get an NBL salary cap dodge out of owning the Lynx.

I think he meant tax dodge. WNBL losses offset against NBL profit (assuming both entities operate out of the same structure). Which isn't a dodge. Although Perth are committed to making Lynx profitable like the Cats are.

No he meant salary cap, adding an extra 15 plus employees to the organisation opens up a lot of ways to be creative.

Perth can afford the risk as they have set themselves up to try this, Adelaide have not and to be honest other than a few who talk it the Lightning do not have the support here, everyone wants them nobody pays to watch them !

Singlets only the 10-12 players on court count to the salary cap. You can spend whatever you want on coaches admin etc.
