As you should.
The footage speaks for itself though. If he's reffing again next weekend something is seriously wrong.

Oh sorry, I didn't see the footage come up.
What has he done?

THe Vukona one was atrocious. Mika just literally laying there

#1 - I think Chris thought the following rule was in play:
"31.2.4. Interference occurs when:
A defensive player touches the ball or the basket while the ball is within the basket, thus preventing the ball from passing through the basket."
The ball doesn't appear to have actually passed through the basket yet, but goaltending/interference is possibly the most difficult call to make accurately in real time.
#2 - He must have thought that Mika went out of his way to trip Martin. The replay shows otherwise and he shouldn't have called it unless it was obvious, but it's far from the worst call of its kind this season.

1# - once the ball hits the rim it's fair play above it to hit the ball away. Hitting from underneath is obviously goal tending. Just a really bad decision.
2# - vikona gets shoved in the back and Dmart walks backwards over him. His own fault. Another trash call.

@2 Mika is responsible for the contact with Walker as he stops abruptly in the path of Walker not giving him time and distance to avoid contact. That contact is not a foul on Walker if its a foul on anyone its on Vukona.

The USF wasn't called because of the contact between Vukona and Walker though.

No it wasnt but it was a contributing factor as to why Vukona found himself on the floor in the situation he was in.

Chris had an outstanding season in 2013-14 and looked like he was going to emerge as a really good ref. Unfortunately things just haven't followed on.
The feedback I've heard is he isn't a great communicator either, which isn't a good mix when you're making basic errors. If there was a bit more pressure from below he'd be on the way out, but the ranks are still very thin.
Re Reid being dropped, the rosters are done in advance, so he may not be taken off games this week but he could be in coming weeks, something to keep an eye on.
On a broader note, while the refs are making plenty of mistakes, their super-tight calling last season and early this season has definitely cleaned things up and the athletes are really able to shine, which is great.
In the past couple of weeks they've stopped calling quite as much and games are flowing nicely, the test now is can they keep stepping in at the right times to stop it reverting back to the rugby NBL becomes when refs aren't on their toes.

I guess we're not rostering refs based on competence.

The Cadee USF makes these other ones look like good calls by comparison.
