If that's the case why play it in Melbourne? I don't see the point in doing so, select a neutral site and get a crowd in.

It's 30% at the footy, I think I saw someone say. So I would expect about that.

You would expect if the recent zero positives continue they will maybe be allowed 50% crowd with masks etc. The interesting thing will be border restrictions between WA and Vic. Perth will not enjoy the taste of a 14 day quarantine after being swept 3-0

75% capacity for seated indoor events. Masks to be worn indoors.
See https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/rules-for-organising-public-events-victoria

2-0. just call the game off and award it to United with a *. Sound familiar?

No. the series wasnt "called off" last season. one team forfeited.

Apologies Perthworld and others, the link I posted hasn't been updated with the details announced last Wednesday (16 June).
As best I can tell, the current restrictions on crowds at NBL games would be:
"Entertainment and Leisure: Metropolitan Melbourne: Open up to 50% of seated capacity up to a maximum of 75 people per venue. Group limit of 10
people. Density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm applies"
This is copied from https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-06/210616%20-%20Table%20of%20Restrictions_2.pdf
This table was released with an announcement that also stated "if cases continue to remain low, we'll be able to ease restrictions further in another week". So expect announcement of any changes a day or two before Game 3.

Oops - the restrictions quoted above are for "Indoor fixed seated entertainment"

Large sporting venues need to apply to host a crowd. There is a reason tickets haven't gone on sale yet

50% is probably a best case scenario
Which is a shame, cos anything less than 50% and you're struggling for playoffs type atmosphere in the Velodrome. AKA JCA

Appreciate your efforts #855221 - it's why I started the thread as it didn't seem clear to me and a fluid situation.

On a related note the A-League Grand Final is to be played in Melbourne this Sunday but it may still be moved to Sydney due to uncertainty around crowd restrictions.

Moved to Sydney - of all places - might have been a bit premature - 10 cases today - and 0 in melb!
Guess we will find out tomorrow as Vic gov always reveal changes to restrictions on Wednesdays
Fingers crossed crowds are allowed on Friday
For Melb Utd members there is a ballot for tickets to finals

50% is probably not enough to turn a profit for the game but understand the situation we are currently in.
Hope it is a close game on Friday nonetheless.

Going up against St Kilda game so LV will be torn between his two loves. His footy team, and talking shit on Hoops.

Speaking of torn, St Kilda will probably get torn a new one by Richmond so I think Hoops will be the cozy safe space for a United/Saints fan on Friday night.

Yeah, won't be moving anything to Sydney, talk now of moving their AFL games.
Swans rumoured to be trying to sell their game to WestCoast
