Melb Tigers history boys girls

New here.
What's the history behind the split of Melbourne Tigers boys and girls org?

Websites, contacts, social media etc very diff. No single branding other than the name.

Dont even have a cordial, 'you've reached xx , you want yy, this is their contact' or 'you've reached xx and I've copied someone from yy who can respond to your queries'.

Really long story. But they are merging, apparently from next year. Should mean some greater consistency. Not everyone happy with it, but makes some good sense.

Late to the party, trying to understand the history.

Club just lacks connection. Here's an example - they don’t even have an end of year celebration or awards event to reflect on the season or reward the players. Just roll into the next year. I think that just leaves people a bit empty.
