Yeah Kings about 3 weeks away IMO. Hawks by single figures

Agreed Kings looked a bit rusty in preseason and with new coach will need a couple of games to start gelling. Hawkes preseason looked a lot deeper than last season and will be amped to start season on a good note. Officiating may help a bit as well. Hawkes by 5

Still not convinced on hawks, now this could be close game. Kings by 3.

One of the biggest days on the aussie sporting calendar.
The Freeway Series gets underway!

Hawks will get this one but only cause Kings are working their way into the season

If the Hawks get 2000 fans to the game against their biggest rivals is that considered a big win for the league...?

The pace of this game is intense.
Has a playoff type desperation to it.
Entertaining if nothing else

Hawks just driving and chucking is not gonna win them the game

Dunkman

Kings nowhere as strong as last season, both sides playing to much iso, that's not going to win big games.

Luuuc

Hawks played dumb basketball for most of that half.

Jimmyhooper15

Same old poor vanilla hawks offence. Lack of a legitimate playmaker and low passing offence. It's embarrassing. It’s an indictment on the lack of coaching

Goodness me it is hard to watch Tyler Harvey play basketball sometimes

This game is over
5 games so far to start the season all won by the fav.
4 blow outs.
Already a huge divide in the league.
Pretty boring and predictable.
The bottom 3 teams are an absolute write off.
Not good

Hunter is a better player than Froling. Gleeson hasn't got a job.

Damn I thought 36s were bad. Hawkes a bit smelly at the moment

MaxM

I agree Jimmyhooper, this game for the Hawks looks is a coaching problem not a talent one.
5 assists in the whole game at almost the end of the 3rd quarter.

Drexler

Hawks are playing well beyond their capabilities pace wise some seriously unco passages of play, still hoping for the comeback win

One team hits there 3s while the other does not,
Thats all modern basketball is.
There is absolutely little else involved.
Just chuck up your 3s, if they fall, great, if they do not you lose.
Nothing else is involved.
If i was in charge of FIBA i would move the line back significantly and stick my nmiddle finger up at the stats nerds.

MaxM

Well no that's just incredibly silly.
Perth were the best shooting team by a fair gap last season yet overall were pretty average.

Jacket

Noi wont shoot like this from 3 again this season.
Just his flukey lucky night from 3.
Wait till he goes 0-7 from 3/
Thats all basketball is now, chuck it from 3 and hope it is your lucky night.

MAxM, really?
"Now you look at a stat sheet after a game and the first thing you look at is the threes. If you made threes and the other team didn't, you win. You don’t even look at the rebounds or the turnovers or how much transition D was involved. You don’t even care. That’s how much an impact the three-point shot has and it’s evidenced by how everybody plays."
Gregg Popovich

Jackomas isn't a head coach. He just isn’t. Stop it with this nonsense.

Bol

Frustrating game for the hawks fans. Whenever they started to make a run they turn it over with sloppy play followed by a dagger 3 by the kings

Tomdelonge2

Average from tne Hawks , at home, new season, just sh1t

Dunkman

Both sides got lot wrinkles to iron out, Sydney's extra talent and Noi getting hot won them the game. Hawks got play a lot smarter than that, Sydney still plays reasonable D also, Hunter and Denzel Valentine doing good there. At times it was jumble ball by both sides, so many turnovers. Santa’s love of Froling has me stumped, he’s ok but not the super star he thinks.

There's a big difference between an assisted 3 and a contested 3 off the dribble. Good teams take good 3s, and smart clubs have more shooters.

Jacket that Popovich quote is much more applicable to the NBA. Completely different to the NBL.

AngusH

We deserved to lose playing milk the clock with 8 mins left in the 4th Q. Outside of that both teams sloppy but the Kings had an extra gear when they needed one.

We signed Jackobus for a few more seasons. Really strong roster with rookie coach.

Also Jacket must not be a Spurs fan because Jacket is using the quote to make the complete opposite point!

Didn't see them signing AJ Johnson only to not give him a single second of pt. I can't believe that was the deal agreed on by both parties. Watch this space for mine...
