Dyson Daniels wins NBA Most Improved Player

Yes!

Dyson Daniels, who led the NBA in steals while making dramatic improvements in scoring, rebounds and assists for the Atlanta Hawks, was voted the NBA's Most Improved Player on Wednesday.

Daniels, 22, finished comfortably ahead of fellow finalists Ivica Zubac of the LA Clippers and Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons in the voting, earning 44 first-place votes and 332 total points. Zubac finished second with 23 first-place votes and 186 points, while Cunningham placed third with 15 first-place votes and 122 total points.

Denver Nuggets guard Christian Braun and Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves rounded out the top five.

I feel like that top 5 is closer to what it has been before about 10 years ago. Braun is similar to Daniels in that he got more opportunity, but also became more efficient with that higher usage etc.

Stoked for Dyson. Even if he doesn't improve from here he's going to be a great NBA player for a long time, but he looks like someone who works hard on his game and has shown glimpses of becoming a better shooter and creator. Exciting times.

Who would you rather have on your NBA team, Daniels or Giddey?
In an expansion team scenario.

Daniels by a big margin - he contributes at both ends, and I prefer his attitude.

Who would you rather have on your NBA team? If the NBA team is already established, what you need would be self-evident
...but.
In an expansion team scenario, I would build around Giddy.

As good as Daniels' defence is, his speciality (role) is largely one dimensional. As a PG, the role is a bigger, more varied one, with more skills required than perhaps any other spot on the team,(dribbling, shooting, passing, as well as a bit of D, etc) and mentally, never able to switch off (yeah, nobody can switch off but the PG more so than anyone).

Take the Boomers, as an eg, most would have Giddy as an absolute, no-brainer lock as starting PG. Once again, most would have Daniels in but he may actually have competition for his spot.
