NBA Rising Star Invitational 2025

Has anyone heard much about this tournament? Looks like a new feature on the calendar, to add to the already busy schedule for these young athletes.
I cant seem to find any information online about the Australian teams or players, though I heard recently that Fagan was among the girls players to be heading to Singapore.
Not sure if that would be even possible given she's probably a shoe in for the Gems team and those dates would clash.

From Australia, invited are two teams that won last year's U17 Championship in Gold Coast: Berwick College boys and Flinders College girls.
It's still not confirmed if Fagan can go, due to her commitments to Gems.

A media release from BA today, no Fagan in the team list. Though not a surprise now the Gems and Sapphire's squads have been announced.

It'll be interesting to see if this event is a one off or reciprocating yearly. Could be another pathway opportunity for a limited few, or maybe an exercise to encourage more schools to enter the National College champs?

I have spoken to some parents and staff of both the Berwick and Flinders squads. They all say the same thing, it was an incredible experience for all involved. I believe there is talk of continuing the tournament for at least another year, though they'd need to clean up the age differences. I'm told there were some kids over 20years old playing in the non Australian squads, whilst all the Aus teams were legit under 18. Some 15 years old. Not sure how accurate that is, but it looked like a good event online at least.
Could be a strong driving force for more Aus college teams to fight it out to make events like this and therefore improve the level of competition overall.
