36ers season memberships

So I am looking to get a season membership for the upcoming season - the problem is apparently so is everyone else. The membership numbers were capped at 7000 last season, with all of those seats sold. And for the coming season those 7000 people will get preference for retaining their seats. The 36ers have said that 5000 new potential members have expressed interest in season memberships and with their policy of keeping tickets available to new fans, and with a capacity of just short of 10,000, not everyone is getting a season ticket.

So what are they likely to do? Extend their quota of season members to maybe 8'000 or more to allow for this influx? Find new sears somehow or open the capacity up in some way?

And then of the 5000 that are on the waiting list, how they decide who of them gets a call and a chance to buy a seat?

It looks like it's already long past due for a new stadium in Adelaide.

See those prices spike big time!

South Australians voted not to have a new basketball stadium, did they not? Apparently it was that or ramping.

How's that ramping going?

People seem to have a 'cant walk and chew gum' mindset. It's like if we build a basketball stadium (and it wasnt just a basketball stadium it was an all purpose stadium), how can we possibly fix ramping?

This was a Malinauskas tactic and I get the feeling he doesnt respect the sport by his constant use of the phrase "basketball stadium" and minimizing it again and again.

Of only had city based venue. Magnificent problem and exciting building for coming season. So much for the gloom and doom last year and all the negativity about everything. Full the currant venue to create evident based for better bigger future proof for growth venue. Sixers are rolling.

I've often wondered what sort of crowd they could get for a top game - 14-15,000 would be IMO.

The new stadium / entertainment complex became a scapegoat for politics - we all know new buildings / infrastructure is what the state needs in it's economy - and it keeps the workers thriving.

Unfortunately it was weighed up against a better public health system - which was always going to win.

It's a good night out game day and most enjoy it.

Maybe if we could get a few more in - we'd also get some better concerts.

"Maybe if we could get a few more in - we'd also get some better concerts."

It sells out for concerts on the reg, last month both The Offspring and Gracie Abrams shows sold out and later this month all four of Katy Perry's shows there have sold out too.

But a number of artists that need to play a larger venue than that, but Adelaide Oval is too big for them, bypass Adelaide because there is nothing in between. Big difference in financials between a venue that holds 8.5k for concerts and an Oval that needs 30k+ to be viable. It's why Metallica were going to skip Adelaide on their last tour but once rescheduled then included Adelaide Oval.

I think the 36ers sold out every home game last season, no doubt will this season too so now it's probably starting to look like a bigger home court is needed.

I've been a 7 game member the last 4 years and haven't heard boo about my renewal, so I can only assume I got dumped for a full 14 game membership being offered to someone else.

Doubt I'll get to a game next year if that's the case.
