Ywah an abundance of guards, hope Bannan and Magnay stay healthy

Word14 I thought they needed another guard pretty badly to be honest with no Crawford there was a lot of pressure on Sean Mac especially coming back off a long term injury

Scout I would like to know who all these guards are you are talking about?

Johnson, MacDonald, Hamilton, Drimic, Ayre.
Yes quality and scoring needed at that spot was thinking the import might have been more of a 3 but Johnson, MacDonald and Hamilton is a very handy back court.
But was more referring to the lack of a genuine 3 man. I had forgotten about the signing of Nick Marshall who along with Deng could bring some quality.
Also admit to being over tired with a hang over so I may well be posting some guff apologies!!!!

Johnson, Hamilton, Ayre, MacDonald, Stoddart, Nunn
Nothing objectively wrong with running that lineup of guards, but it's pretty scary to see all those names while the only true centre on the roster behind injury-prone Magnay is Archie Woodhill

Word 14 bannan is more than capable of playing the 5 if needed I think we are in a better position than last year in the bigs department just need to keep them healthy. Also so far our main competitors Melbourne Adelaide , Sydney are not overly stocked at the 5 , and the hawks will be missing froling for most of the season

fair points Baller, I just think it's no coincidence that the season Tassie won the championship was the same year they had a true back-up centre in Marcus Lee.
We'll see though, as you say other teams are thin at the 5, and I believe Tassie have said they'll consider cutting someone and signing an import big if Magnay goes down?

They could just bring in an injury replacement player couldn't they? And because they have just the 2 imports it could be an import. So, there would be no need to cut anyone. Bannan could also stay on the books as a marquee.

Two guard with excellent stats from the German league, started every game at just under thirty minutes a game, very good shooting percentage from the two and three. 17.8 points a game is very good for German league, fourth overall in all league. Milton who ::::))).

Rank them as favourites, Hawks missing Froling and probably Olbrich so logically think they would get a premium big, but needing Kell back to be able to defend title.
But Tassie really need that backup big. Street clothes Magnay will at some stage get injured for a stretch as well as foul trouble. Bannon may give minutes there, but I disagree about Adelaide being thin. If anything they've either got guards or 4/5s galore.
If Magnay is off the court, who's going to guard Harrell? Double team him and Cotton and DJ will have a field day, and if Humphries isn't permanently scarred coming off the bench, then he can also cause matchup problems. On the other hand they won't be able to guard anyone on Tassies roster, but the JJs really needed a big body as insurance Said it before, but someone like Pineau would have been absolutely perfect. Boats probably sailed in terms of age now, but even Starling gave Adelaide some decent minutes as a sub before losing his job.
May be able to get a an import big if they do cut someone, just think it would have been better to have them from the start instead of causing a disruption mid season. Even a budget import straight out of college that can just be a body out there.

They should've pursued either Jock Perry or Josh Tomasi further than the 1 season each one of them got as a DP

Looking like a decent roster but level below title contender. Really needed another good big as insurance for the inevitable big Magnay injury. Losing a game breaker like Doyle will hurt too.
In hindsight they probably should've signed a big instead of rushing to sign Marshall too much of a guard heavy lineup.

They had an absolute second rate side in their first season and played in the GF, Roth is not letting this squad slip to anything less. Looking really good to me. Sixers looking offensive juggernaut but in big games you need D. JJs favourites imo.

The phantom they signed Kobe Williamson a straight out of college big that's definitely got potential. I’m not sold on Adelaide to be honest Harrell is exciting but drifts in and out of games and who knows what Humphreys is going to turn up . Be interesting what style they play Bryce is use to having a whole offence built around him is that still going to happen with Harrell and cheatham there . I think magnay bannan front court is a strong one it’s just a matter of keeping fit
