Aussies/NBL guys at NBA Summer League

There'll end up being so many I thought I may as well make a thread

So far we have

Alex Higgins-Titsha to play for Golden State
Sam Mennenga to play for the Lakers
Biwali Bayles to play for the Knicks

And it's not been confirmed, but long rumoured Will Hickey will play for Detroit

I think Owen foxwell went overseas in search of a spot but I'm assuming he hasn't got one yet?

NBA teams seem to cast the net pretty wide these days, it's like if they could vaguely imagine you handing out water to NBA players they give you a Summer League deal.

Yeh it's interesting years ago Sam Mackinnon played int the NBA summer league and it was a big deal at the time but now it seems anyone gets a crack regardless of if they are even an NBL starter level player.

I'm old enough to remember when Biwali Bayles was considered an NBL standard player, they were good times.

Just some clown NBA scout has fallen in love with him and got him on the team. Akoldah Gak's been there too and one year some idiot Mavs scout tried to get Kyle Adnam on their SL team but got overruled.

Bayles no pass and never seen a shot he doesn't like lends its self to nba. Being related to the Mundines probably helps as well, you would think they have contacts.

No one has ever heard of Mundine in the US and Bayles, who can't make an NBL roster, doesn't have a hope in hell of making the NBA.

Possibly but he did fight there and even though different sport contacts run deep.

Will Magnay with 9/8/2 and three blocks in the consolation final. But game high +42 in 22 minutes.

Atlanta went down in the other consolation final. Jack White 9/4/2 (4/14) starting, and McVeigh with 24 mins off the bench for 8, but -22.

McVeigh and Magnay are looking good to get deals.

Hang in there, I'm sure the Hornets will win the draft lottery eventually!

Chris Jent played for the North Melbourne giants so there is an aussie connection to the Hornets team .

NBL site has quite a good summary of players performances across NBA although strangely seems to omit mennenga

Agree magnay and mcveigh leading candidates immediately and Harrison probably potential for the near future. Too early to tell for Higgins titsha but he could be a chance. Daniels has big raps but will need to book some stats in NBL.

Not many other locals from NBL knocking on the door I don't think
