Andrew Gaze has been elevated to legend status in Australian Sporting Hall of Fame.

Joins some very big names who were best in their fields, including Don Bradman, Dawn Fraser, Warnie, Kathy Freeman, Ian Thorpe

Congratulations Gazey.

Legendary: Gaze joins elite sporting icons

Andrew Gaze has been elevated to legend status as Sport
Australia celebrates the 40th anniversary of its Hall of Fame.

The basketball icon becomes the 52nd legend to be honoured
since the category's inception in 1993, joining an illustrious list
that includes Sir Donald Bradman, Dawn Fraser, Cathy Freeman,
Shane Warne and lan Thorpe.

Gaze, 60, is widely regarded as an icon of Australian basketball.

A five-time Olympian, he boasts a record seven NBL MVP awards
and two championships, underlining his dominance across a
remarkable career.

The prolific scorer was an NBA champion with San Antonio in
1999 and was Australia's flag-bearer at the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games.

Having first been inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame
in 2005, Gaze's elevation to legend status further cements his
standing as one of the most significant figures in Australian
sport.
