Breakers at United,

Can't see anything but a united win, hopefully a good game.

Well that maybe why he was also poor the other night against the bullets.

Will Baker get back to nz or be on the plane tonight heading home. Brockington looked great in preseason but can't defend a lamp post. United just a well oiled machine. Terangi starting tells you what you need to know.

Yep. If Terangi is one of your point of attacks there's something seriously wrong with your team.

I know the Breakers wanted more NZ players but what’s the point if you don’t win any games.

Baker has negative feel for the game. Brockingtons solid but they should’ve got a gun scorer like Barry Browne.

The idea the new owners had to make NZB a mainly Kiwi team again was sound, if the talent is there. Signing cast-offs like Le'afa, Loe, Te Rangi and even Britt meant it was going to be a long season for them. Cairns and NZB were easy picks for the bottom of the ladder.

Coach kop wasting brockington having him parked on the corner on the wing. Give him the ball and let him drive

There is kiwi playing div three Japan, name escapes me, played in Perth last season and Sixers previously, clearly a better four man than Terangi, you can have Loe as 12th man.

Hyrum Harris

Personally I would take Te Rangi over him too.

Zodiac, you took Britt ahead of Foxwell, which you're entitled too but imo you would be in the minority. Harris is tough and can rebound, solid shooter.

No team will be able to match up on Jesse Edwards, JLA can match his length but not his power, strength around the bucket.

Did I just read someone would take Britt over Foxwell.

Not sure I took Britt over Foxwell, just combatted a lot of the hype you and the NBL talking heads have for Foxwell. I just pointed out Britt outplayed him in the Aus/NZ series, the Asia Cup and arguably in the NZNBL too. If Foxwell didn't play for a Melb based team he would never get overhyped.

I saw Hyrum first hand two years at the Sixers, he's crap. Terrible offensively and not much chop on the boards or defensively, hence why he's fallen out of the NBL. Off to Japan with the Rhys Vague's and Sam Timmins' of the world.

NZ will struggle to win 8 games this year

Each to their own, that's why we come onto this forum.

Breakers in big trouble, Kop got screwed over last season when Gillespie was removed and it’s happening again. Baker hitting a few threes but for an import nowhere near good enough. If Lopez and PJC are already carrying injuries, there is no light at end of the tunnel.

Ahaha Zodiac already rewriting history after raving about Britt a month ago, but anyway a nice training run for United ahead of the throwdown on Thursday

Was at the game.
^^ Agree on Baker... he's well below what they need.
Jacked a few threes that went in once the game was already over but was horrible defensively and looked lost most of the time offensively.
It’s going to be a LONG season for the breakers and I wouldn’t be surprised if they collect the spoon.

Kops press conference spoke of people out of shape. Not sure how that can be.

Loe looked awful and exceptionally slow. Was probably intended more for culture than on court but didn't look able to contribute.

Kops comments on imports was telling. Baker happy with and super coachable. Baker "not on the same page". He seems lost on defence and offence and you'd think he has to be released before the season gets away on them

I thought a number of players were out of shape or they were sick. Karim Lopez was gassed at one point like me at a social league when we don't have enough numbers for subs. The poor 3pt shooting also indicates they haven't got their legs under them. How could that be? Personally, I think the Breakers get together way too late and play too little preseason games. You can see the difference between teams like Melbourne and the Jackjumpers, and the Breakers and Bullets, who are well advanced in their preparation. It would be premature to write their season off, but they've certainly got some work to do.

I honestly thought the Breakers would be top 4, I'm not sure I've ever been so wrong about anything in my entire life.

NZ's looking pretty bad but, at the same time it'd be silly to write off teams who were severely undermanned and didn't have enough depth to begin with, because they'll look totally different with players healthy/back (Cairns and NZ)
