Brantley is playing in Japan.

7 news suggested someone is already signed and would be a good chance to suit up against Cairns. Another big. Olgun also suggested someone was close. Dare say someone is either signed or close to being.

If they've already signed someone I wonder if they've decided to keep Vrenz Bleijenbergh then?

Nick Racocevic appears to be the new import to replace Harrell. Serbian big man. Compared to Harrell, people might feel a bit underwhelmed by this signing. But they did get it done quickly.

You'd think maybe they might target a higher level player with the other spot? Not saying this guy can't play though.

Nick Rakocevic is American, he was born in the US and spent all his youth there including playing his HS ball there. Of Serbian heritage though and appears to identify as American Serbian.

He has mainly been playing in China and Puerto Rico. Not great leagues but any port in a storm. Turns 28 in December, 6'11" PF.

Serbian? I wonder if that's Marko Marinovic helping out.

Looking at his highlight clips, certainly does seem similar to Harrell, though less bully ball type of play down low. Lots of finishing around the rim, but his shooting action from 3 seems a bit more natural than Harrell's. Definitely looks like a guy who could come off the bench to spell Humphries and Cheatham for 20 minutes a night though.

Code Sports saying Rakocevic is coming in as an injury replacement for Griscti.

One of the import spots has to formally be an injury replacement. The other will just replace Harrell.

I think Griscti will just have the year off to be honest.

Yeah Gristci won't be back this season by the sounds of it.

Awful situation but glad he’s ultimately okay.

Great call Matt.
And Mikka would qualify as a next star but would obviously play at import level
But yeah his agent has really put that out there

Rakocevic looks like a pretty budget import. Maybe 10% better than Krslovic? The other import better be elite!

Be interesting to see how he goes

He has similar puerto rico stats to many nbl players,

My guess is he will be of similar level to on of the Sam's (waadenburg or manenga)

Going by vision online, he has range as well as moves around the basket. A mature strong body as well as mobile. He is there as a backup to Humphries and Cheatham not to start in front of one of them so team balance will perhaps be a bit better due to expectations. Still one import spot up 36ers sleeve due to Cotton naturalisation. Will be interesting to see how it all works out once he arrives next week and practices with the team.

Saw some rumours that Noah Vonleh was the other guy we were talking too, however given all his issues with agents and teams in China too maybe it's best just to steer clear of all that at this point.

I would like it more if the reputation of this player had more emphasis on D and rebounding, but it does seem like he has an all-round game.

He has had some big games in China. I know this can be pretty routine for most imports in this league though.

Beantown, but the bonus import (I call it bonus after Cotton citizenship) was probably always going to be someone who is not overly expsensive. I think Adelaide will sign a high level point guard depending on how they're going. But this could change. He is a big man replacement for Harrell, but they obviously haven't used the Harrell money on this spot.

This leaves them with basically one 4 man in Cheatham and a rotation of those 3 bigs. Kenyon might have to spend some time at the 4 maybe. Jones can probably offer something too if he is still eligible to play.

He averaged 8-9 rebounds in his final 2 years at USC in 27-30 minutes and then averaged 7.6 and 8 rebounds in his last two years in China. Not Dennis Rodman numbers, but enough to suggest he's solid in that area. A bit up and down on blocked shots, but enough to suggest he could average 1 a game as well.

Looks very solid, I like the look of him. Exactly what sixes need, certainly if Humphries has a good season, play some time in both 4-5 spots.

If they sign a very good SF and move cameron to combo guard they'll be hard to beat

Wells said Rakocevic will be meeting the team in Cairns today and they'll make a game time decision on if he's ready to play or not.
