Kings vs Taipans

Looking forward to opening night, finally! On paper it should be one sided but Cairns have two games under their belts and Andrews has probably adjusted his sleeping patterns and had a training session with the team, so he could be the X factor. Showed some signs late in the game on Friday of his class.

This could be closer than my original thoughts, Cairns were very competitive the other night, still think kings got this by 12 plus. Should be the best game of the two today.

Soares abysmal.

Delly still suffering from main character syndrome.

Good game happening here, Davis playing great. The million dollar men going at one another, McVeigh probably in front at this stage.

Soares must have been budget, why they let Hunter go unbelievable. Cairns top 6-8 players are very good, Statmann improved out site.

Davis keeping kings in this. Maluach deserves more time for kings

The refs have been great this season imo, even today. Kings just so much deeper bench than Cairns. Cairns need more from their imports. Rosens commentary is far worse than the refereeing.

Goorj still has no idea when to call timeouts. It's mind boggling.

Goorj needs to do the right thing and hang em up. He was clueless last season and looks like it's continuing this season.

The contract Kings gave Delly is downright management malpractice. United laughing.

McVeigh earned his million, Cooks should refund his. What Roths coaching did for McVeigh, his work ethics and belief is unfathomable. Cairns just far too good, kings just rely on Davis and the rest are chuckers, Bogut looked so frustrated on the sidelines. Galloway, Delly, minus 17, Cooks minus 16. Maluach three minutes and he plays D.

Hopefully Cairns can keep injury free and there top six- eight players can get it done. Forde can also shove my doubts down my throat.

Cooks just goes through the motions. Happy to get his pay cheque and go home and do his extra curricular activities.

I don't know how you can see the refs were good when Cairns had THREE successful challenges in the first half alone. That is just a joke.

McVeigh's passing game has evolved so much, he was fantastic. Andrew Andrews can clearly play.

If Cairns can stay around .500 until Waardenburg comes back, look out

Kings need Cooks to play like MVP Cooks, if he does they're team to beat this year. If he keeps playing like today they're just another good team.

Not that they were good today, but they'll get better and they'll add another player at some stage

Hats off to McVeigh who's earning his million this weekend

Brick city for Sydney tonight. I think our 3pt shooting is going to be a worry all season long, but today it was particularly woeful, with lots of shots falling short. Cairns played a solid game, but if Sydney had made their shots we'd have won, so looking at it glass half full at the moment. Definitely work to do.

Reyne Smith also seems to be the kind of player I expected Ben Henshall to be. I've been impressed at his ability to get inside the arc and score too - based on his college stats it seemed like all he'd do is camp behind the arc and jack 3s, but that's definitely not the case. One of the most impressive young Aussies to hit the league in the past couple of years.

Enjoy KD Kings fans, that was what we had to put up with last season. Was a weird decision to sign the guy especially with Delly already there.

I don't think I've ever seen KD shoot that bad last year, so may just be a hiccup there, but he can't be putting up 27 shots a game either. He was already shooting a lot last year and was averaging 17 shots a game.

"Andrew Andrews helps Cairns win wins"

Not sure if that's a gramatically correct sentence, but I like it
