Is this serious?

U16B HP Manager appointing himself... ok he got Silver from last years team however... he is the HP Manager (apparently)!
U16G finished 9th and the same coach appointed... did no one else apply? How does one re-apply with that outcome?

U18B Same Coach who couldn't medal last year with a stacked team... again... did no one else apply? What junior team does he coach in the regular season to keep his coaching in sync with the game today?
U18G Same Coach however got belted in the Gold Medal game after being belted by them in the pools, probably deserves another go.

Clearly BSA need more applicants as this is a same-old same-old approach!

You answered your own question cedric.

u16b good appt. won a silver medal. wasnt expected. deserves another opportunity. why cant hp manager take a role?
u16g :-/ i hope lessons have been learned and several of the same players are not selected
u18b good appt. not a loaded team. some overrated players.
u18g good appt. hilbig is a gun. future national team hc. nobody was near vicm who had 2 generation talents in the starting 5 and then more internationals in the team and bench

did you get overlooked?

The 16 boys did a great job to get silver after a slow start so why wouldn't that coach get to go again?

Is the 18 boys who are in for another year of playing like robots. There were kids last year, who would have either made the team or gone close to making it, that couldn’t be bothered even trialing.
It’s the same tripe every year with that guy. So many restrictions on what they can and can’t do, the kids are scared to make mistakes.
And one of the best shooters in the comp last season was picked to defend. And he barely shot it.
This guy has to coach kids because adults wouldn’t listen to him.

The 16 girls will be interesting. So many bottom ages picked last season was odd but puts them in a good position for this year.

Cedrick with a controversial first post. Are you privy to any intel beyond the box scores?

U16B won a silver medal. There was a likely successor, but he decided to take an NBL1 opportunity instead. It probably shouldn't be the HP manager, but if others aren't up to it then they shouldn't be appointed.

U16G were terrible. Was this due to the coach or players? Many have been quick to blame the coaching staff, but several players have been an issue at club level and that playing group has underperformed year after year. Inexperienced coaches and a young, difficult playing group wasn't a good mix, but who should've been appointed instead? Not necessarily the wrong call.

U18B are overly structured, but have consistently performed well for 5+ years straight. Again if nobody else up to the coaching standard applies, BSA can't appoint someone substandard.

U18G won a silver medal and got flogged... by the most stacked team in the better part of a decade. Coach was won a medal every year, with three grand finals and a gold. "Probably" should get another go?

I'm sorry you didn't get appointed or your kid has to go through another year with coaches you hate. Get over it mate.

Not privvy to any inside intel as I don't associate with anyone in the inner sanctum, and don't need too... just an educated observer that has come to the conclusion that there are clearly no better applicants applying in this State.

My kids aren't involved so you don't need to try and think that it is a disgruntled parent, however watching the same same for a while now and particular the behaviour of one, would make it hard to encourage any player to put themselves in that environment.

In response to the above:

U16G coach picked the team. The kids didn't pick it.
U16B - might be filling in the blank however that shows that there aren't enough applicants qualified for the role if there was only one potential to take over.
U18G - aware of his resume.
U18B - lost with a stacked team. Lost gold the year before. Apologies if he is your mate but it's time to move on... good players don't try out or withdraw because of him.

Agree u16g coach picked the team but probably listened to her dad in all truth. if she has learned her lesson maybe i can come round to it as she is young but i think she will pick and priortize the same overhyped problem players again.

Hey Cedric,

What is your understanding of SA teams relative ability compared to other states in each age group? And therefore your coaching credentials? Have you coached at 14 national, and/or classics in these age groups?

ie how many state, club, national medals have you won.

Whilst you are more than able to provide your opinion. I am also allowed to say that you are a clueless coaching hack who has no idea and hides behind a keyboard.

PS I have no horse in the race.
