2 terrific losses on consecutive nights. No sarcasm, I mean it.
First loss. MU's loss to New Orleans. MU were fantastic but the Pelicans deserved the W'. Fabulous presentation. Loved everything about it.
Second loss. In tonight's Bullets v JJ's game, my Bullets lost to the JJ's, 82/84. I knew that this one would be a tough game as Bullets already without McDaniel, Norton and Holt. Thought that JFL was ok now, and knew nothing of Prather's injury. Well, what chance now?
At least, JJ's had their own worries with DJ out and his NRP, Tahjon Starks, unlikely to play. He did, and he delivered 18 pts, and helped his new team to the 2 pt win. Three other JJ's also had double-figure scores, Josh Bannon's 23 was the game-high.
Finally, why I don't mind this loss to the JJ's. The Tas team were going to be tough even with the Bullets at full strength.
Until tonight, I had little evidence of what our bench could/would actually deliver. I was not hopeful of much success. Well, now I am satisfied that we do have great depth and balance. Time to make amends for the slow start to the season.
The pleasing aspect, from this loss, is that the Bullets were in it, to the very end with Adams' 19pts, Murray's 17 and 12 for Ducas leading the way. Everyone else scored with the exception of Dufelmeier and Bradtke (both with DNPs).
Displaying my usual bias, I question the referee's calls on consecutive charge/block calls, the ones that can go either way. Both went to the JJ's. The first one was Harrison's 5th, with 13 secs left in the game, and JJ's up by 1. The 2nd, on Dalton, (in 'cos Harrison just fouled out), sent Hamilton to the line for 2, with 2 secs left. A hit and a miss. Final score - Bris 82 / Tas 84. OT would have been delicious!
Next game v Hawks, at Hawks.
