Wildcats Error of judgement
As much as we think Rillie has got what it takes to win games, he has made several distinguishable mistakes.
One of the most visible is putting Russo Stance (a junior) into the starting five. He couldn't drive and he didn’t distribute well, therefore allowing the bullets to get a better head start. It is disastrous when you have a bad start - throws the wildcats game into disruption. Players then going desperadoes to score - often forcing turnovers.
Now, I know Dech will be good when he comes in but until then Rillie does have a better choice - his son is miles more trustworthy than Russo as a PG.
Wildcats need to start off well - if not, it takes a hell of time to get back into the game.
The second mistake is not playing hard in the first quarter- lackadaisical defence by the players giving plenty of open looks to opposition to drop the 3’s. And even the forwards to allow Prathers of the world that valuable space to score in the ring. ... it is ridiculous. Rillie has not enforced 'protect the ring’ rules. Weak weak weak !
