Can college athletes play nbl1

Question: Can NCAA college athletes play NBL1 when they return to Aus for their holidays? Obviously no pay involved.

I'm not certain why the question, why wouldn’t they be able too and get paid, colleges now pay athletes. It’s probably more up to the colleges and if they release you.
