Cairns @ Brisbane, Round 7

This could be a great game as both teams will be desperate to win it. Not sure that either team will actually gain any credibility from winning this game, but one will lose a little (more) by losing it.

Both teams add extra injuries to their respective team's lists.

Cairns, already missing Waaredenburg, have ruled out Jack McVeigh, Kody Stattmann and Alex Higgins-Titsha from tonight's game. They have recruited SG, Mojave King back to Cairns.

Brisbane who are still without Norton, McDaniel and Holt, also lose SmithMilner and Ducas to injury. Bullets add new import SG, Dakota Mathias (replacement for JFL), to the playing roster sending Lamar Patterson(IP/NRP), back to the "reserves".

Mathias will certainly be busy for his debut. Here to play SG, (his role) and to help Adams in the back-court (Norton's role), he will also get to play some SF (to cover for the absence of Ducas).

First-game "jitters" might work for us, Mathias to hit the winner.

Jack McVeigh is a game-time decision, according to the latest I can find. Hope springs eternal...

Both teams smashed by injuries so early in the season, no rhythm to be found by either. Home court advantage should equate to slightly bullets favour. Both coaches under the pump, Sorry but imo Lash has sounded more credible lately so to put the sword to Brisbane I think they get this in a close one.

The league should give both teams the week off. Best thing for them, best thing for us all.
