Interesting that Jan Stirling has once again come across in the media in a negative way about a player trying to develop her game outside Australia.
You can understand her frustration at not having a full squad (Opals) to train with all year round - but as an observer i think it looks pretty bad for the WNBL and the Opals program for her to be openly critical of a player leaving for the "big" market.
I cant imagine Goorjian coming out and saying that Newley's chances of making the Boomers World Champs squad had been placed in jeopardy for going into the NBA -as a hypothetical.
