This will be great if it comes off.

Since 1996 when the rollers went under, the Gold Coast has expanded so much I think the support will be there now.

There is another rumour going around also about another asian team joining the league in the next couple of years.

Soon we may be able to have two seperate conferences.

"The opportunity for the Gold Coast to be seen on television in Asia, in probably tens of millions of households, is one I hope the community doesn't take lightly," he noted."

He does realise Singapore has only 4 million people? Unlikely China would care what a Singapore basketball team does, Malaysia has 20 million people, but they won't care either. Indonesia, what's basketball? and Philippines has it's own highly competitive league.

Drastically over-estimated the potential market for Gold Coast! Hope this is not the sole reason for wanting to join NBL as they won't last long thinking this.

He could be refering to the highly lucrative Japanese market, from which the Gold Coast tourist industry reaps many millions of dollars each year already.
